frequently asked questions

How often should I be getting a treatment?

During your initial consultation, we will develop a treatment plan that best suits your needs. For example; This could mean an appointment once per week for 3 weeks,  then reassess your progress and treat as required. This depends on your personal goals.

Manual therapy is a beneficial tool to utilize as part of a holistic treatment approach. It should NOT be relied upon solely to “fix” you.
As part of your treatment plan there will be some form of take home advice, tips and exercise to help you get the most out of your treatment and give you the confidence to know that you are in control and actively involved in your treatment and goals.

Everyone has their own reasons why they use manual therapy regularly, whether it be for relaxation, stress relief, muscle soreness, injury & rehabilitation or just to have that time for themselves, it’s completely individual and personal.

Can I claim on Private Health Insurance?

YES!  I am a provider for all of  the major health funds including, BUPA, AHM & MEDIBANK, NIB, ARHG,  CBHS & Doctors Fund.

Can I use a Team care plan from my GP?

Yes. I take team care plan arrangements from your GP which are covered through Medicare. There is however a small out of pocket cost as I do not Bulk Bill but Medicare will cover $56.00 of your total appointment.

What do I wear?

Make sure you wear clothes that are comfortable and loose.  Jewellery that can easily be removed.  All patients will be fully draped with towels during their treatment and only the area being treated is exposed.

How will I feel after a treatment?

Some people may feel immediate relief after the treatment or you may feel a little sore. Some common transient effects include feeling achy, tired & groggy. We advise relative rest for 24 hours post treatment to allow the body to ease into its new state and to drink plenty of water.
